Wow, your paintings are amazing!! I'm so impressed :)
I'm pretty new here too, but youve got so much better stuff then me. Your painting seems really strong, and i love the way you use the colors
I think youre well worth a watch

Your art is very provocative, though I'm sure it loses a lot in the picture. What do you use to create them--materials, that is? Your art also seems sort of spiritual and religious in nature. Are you a fan of Dante? Regardless, very cool. If you don't mind, I'm adding you to my watch list. Keep it up! :clone:

Thank you so much for your comment! As someone who is brand new to actually letting other eople see my work, it is encouraging to see that the first reaction isn't "That sucks".

These are all acrylic on hand stretched canvas. The triptychs are 12x36 for each panel, and the large piece is 40x36.

I use alot of water and varnish in my layers, kind of bringing a "photoshop" kind of feel to it, sealing each layer before moving on to the next. Again, thanks, and I am looking forward to viewing some of your stuff.

Sucks is the last word I'd use to describe your work. Of my work however, that word goes hand in hand. Regardless, how many layers are on each?
:icontalesien:
Hehehe....I would disagree with you. Your work is quite strong. Thinking of even grabbing a print or two.

As for the layers in mine, it depends. The triptychs, each panel probably is 15-18 layers total. The large piece, and I remember this distincly, is 7 layers. That painting is HEAVY. Lots of structure gels and carved modeling paste, etc.

I imagine. Still, that's really cool. The more I paint, the more I've taken to making layers. My first few pieces were pretty flat, and I decided to go back over them and add other layers until I liked it. It makes it more interesting, I think--more challenging for the eye. Otherwise, you just can look at it, and go "yeah well, I guess that's something."
